Using The Whole Font

We’re not nearly using all the features OpenType is giving us on the web. Looks like it’s about to change: Use The Whole Font.

Typecast

First (during the initial beta) I was afraid but now I kinda like how Typecast is evolving. It’s really easy to switch around and try different typographic styles in the browser. The connection to all the big web font companies doesn’t hurt either.

Sizing the legible letter

Sizing text on the web isn’t exactly like print. You have to account for a lot of different factors and most importantly make it look good at many sizes. Here’s some good discussion on the matter: Type study: Sizing the legible letter « The Typekit Blog.
